HIGHWAY GRASS VERGES

Placing stones or any other items in or on the highway verge may constitute an offence per Highways Act 1980 and is not permitted. These stones or objects may present a hazard to highway users and can damage vehicles.

Residents are reminded that they should not put any such items on the highway, including the verge. The Streetscene Enforcement Team (East Riding of Yorkshire Council) do not always take a proactive approach but will investigate where a potentially serious issue is reported.
